After a 10 year career as a teacher, i started weaving when I was pregnant with my son (whose about to turn 7!!). At the time there was all but naught online. I borrowed books from the library and bought some off eBay trying to figure out what in the world I was doing. It was like the Wild West! I invented stitches, only to find them in a book further down the line, and turns out I was doing them all wrong. It was a good 3-4 years or trial and error- mostly error. But weaving has been such a light in my life. A place to go to celebrate, process, grieve, understand myself. Last year my son received a diagnosis that shook our family to the foundations. Weaving helped me process my emotions and thoughts. It helped me be strong and pliable at the same time. There is much more to be learned at the loom than just stitches. I started teaching to share my knowledge. To give others the gift that I had stumbled upon. The gift to themselves. A few hours here and there to get to know yourself better. Weaving really has saved my life. If you’ve been thinking about learning, there’s no time like Right now. Check out my online courses at me website, or if you’re lucky enough- I have some AUSTRALIAN Winter workshops. Click through to my Etsy shop. Xo love you
